The 2006 HIV prevention and care conference "Advancing HIV Prevention and Care", is the second State-wide conference on HIV prevention and care sponsored by the Maine HIV, STD, and Viral Hepatitis Program. The focus of the conference is to move forward the integration of HIV prevention and care services; educate, advocate and increase collaboration between HIV prevention providers and care providers; and to provide education and a space to network for people living with HIV.

The mission of the HIV, STD, and Viral Hepatitis Program is to stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, viral hepatitis, and HIV, to reduce illness and death, and to promote the health and well being of people with or at risk for these diseases.
