Session Title: Creating School Policies - Panel with Real Stories

Time: 1:30 - 3:30

Overview:
This interactive session will provide an overview of OSA's recent document, "Your Substance Abuse Policy: A Comprehensive Guide For Schools," and will feature a panel providing real life examples of how the guide has been used so far. Participants are encouraged to bring lots of questions both for the panelists and the workshop facilitators, who were involved in the guide's development.

The Presenters:
Maryann Gotreau is currently, the State of Maine enforcing Underage Drinking Laws grant coordinator. Maryann leads multiple projects in regards to environmental strategies for substance abuse prevention, including youth advocacy efforts, trainings for police officers and retailers, and school substance abuse policy development. Maryann holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine and a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management from the Muskie School of Public Service, University of Southern Maine.

Emily Wolff is Assistant Project Director for the 21 Reasons Coalition in Portland and MESAP, Maine's Environmental Substance Abuse Prevention Center at Medical Care Development, Inc. Emily holds a master's degree in public health from Boston University and brings several years of experience in research and communications.
