Session Title: 1 A/B - Prescription Monitoring Program and One County's Success
Overview:
Participants will be able to describe the main points of each program or initiative addressing prescription drug misuse prevention in Maine and learn about the Prescription Monitoring Program. Specific strategies to reduce supply (prescription monitoring program, education about proper disposal, education about taking medications properly, educating providers on pain management) and to reduce demand (increase access to treatment, increase screening/brief intervention/referrals to treatment, education about risks of abuse) will be discussed.
