Summit Overview
In Healthy Maine 2010: Opportunities for All, sexual orientation and sexual minority status are factors that can lead to health disparities. These health disparities are intensified by a lack of population based data on the LGBTI community resulting in a scarcity of information on the health of LGBTI Mainers. Through a variety of work sessions the summit will provide an opportunity for state and local health officials, members of the LGBTI community, community advocates, and state policy makers to meet and strategize ways to increase awareness of health disparities and the collection of health data on the LGBTI community as well as increase self advocacy in consumers. |
