26th Annual New England School of Best Practices in Addiction Treatment

This page provides some general information regarding our upcoming Best Practices School. 

Program Information

This four-day event gives addiction professionals the opportunity to combine in-depth study of an area of special interest with the opportunity to learn in a wilderness setting. The program includes advanced clinical and administrative skilled-based treatment in best practices and evidence-based practices treatment approaches, as well as a current and emerging best opioid treatment practices, clinical supervision and management training.

The highly popular program site, the Waterville Valley Resort & Conference Center, is nestled in a secluded area of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The Valley offers indoor and outdoor swimming, tennis and racquetball courts, a nine-hole golf course, and hiking trails. Free time has been set aside so students can enjoy these facilities on designated evenings and afternoons.

Each year, the New England Institute welcomes new participants and previous participants. We invite you to join us this year for intensive and stimulating studies, networking, and relaxing in one of the most beautiful parts of New England!

Participants will choose from a wide variety of intensive, research-based courses.

Partial State Scholarship Assistance

Most New England state agencies provide some partial scholarship assistance to support some selected attendees. Application must be made to your state agency for schoalrship assistance. These applications will be posted very shortly; look for the "Scholarship" link under the "Best Practices" menu on this website.

 

Courses

Designed with the seasoned behavioral health professional in mind, this event offers training on evidence-based and promising approaches specific to addressing addiction. The courses offered are intended to appeal to a wide array of professionals working in diverse settings. In addition to clinical and clinical supervision topics, course offerings this year will again address macro area of addiction and behavioral practice such as fiscal oversight and developing effective management skills.

This year's program will include clinical supervision foundation and clinical supervision recertification coursework, ethics, the management certification track, and much more.

Program Format

The four-day program is a combination of daily plenary events and intensive workshops totaling up to 32 contact hours.

Lodging Costs

Lodging rates range from about $85/night for a single bedroom in a shared condominium to a variety of traditional hotel rooms from about $98 to $125/night, and family style one-bedroom hotel rooms with full kitchens range are available at a slightly higher rate.

LODGING IS A SEPARATE FEE FROM TUITION. Please note that all types of lodging are limited.
