Earn up to 31 Continuing Education Credits!

2017 New England School of Addiction and Prevention Studies

Those attending the complete program, including the Monday morning optional plenary session, will earn 31.25 contact hours. Attendance is possible for the entire full four days or any combination of days, so earned continuing education credit hours will vary depending upon your attendance.

Certification of attendance and continuing education credit are included in the registration fee.

Application is being made for professional certification by entities authorized to do so for addiction counselors, social workers, mental health counselors and prevention specialists:

The New England Institute is a recognized Sponsor of Continuing Education Activities by the Maine State Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors. The New England Institute of Addiction Studies is a pre-approved provider of the NH Board of Licensing for Alcohol & Other Drug Use Professionals.  As such, this program is approved for up to 31.25 Continuing Education contact hours for re-licensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. Categories of competence will be posted at: http://www.neias.org/page/SS_CEInformation17. Application has been made for professional approval for social workers and LMHCs, and final approval information will be posted at http://www.neias.org/page/SS_CEInformation17.  

Through AdCare Educational Institute, Inc., a co-sponsor: Up to 31.25 hours of Continuing Education will be offered for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, (LADC I, LADCII, and LADC Assistants, Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAC/CADC). Prevention Specialists (CPS): Although not all courses are prevention specific training, the Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse Counselor Certification will accept these credits due to the strong relevance to prevention. This training can be listed under the "Prevention Training Education Requirement" on your application for Certified Prevention Specialist if you wish to use it there. MBSACC designations for prevention specific or ATOD specific courses will be posted on this website. AdCare Educational Institute is a NAADAC Approved Education Provider (# 575).

LMHCs: Application for MaMHCA/MMCEP continuing education credits is being submitted. Please contact us at 207-621-2549, neias@neias.org, or check on this webpage for the status of LMHC CE certification.

Social Workers: Application for professional social worker continuing education credits has been submitted. Please contact us at 207-621-2549, neias@neias.org, or check on this webpage for the status of professional CE approval for social workers.

Academic Credit

Many colleges and universities have approved the NESAS program for undergraduate credit as an independent study for students enrolled in their institutions. Check with your faculty advisor.
