26th Annual New England School of Best Practices in Addiction Treatment

August 27 - 30, 2018

Waterville Valley Conference Center, Waterville Valley, NH

New England Substance Use Disorder State Agencies Scholarship Information

A limited number of partial scholarships are offered by some of the New England State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Agencies to support the attendance at the Best Practices School by professionals from specific states.

  • Each state differs in the amount of scholarship offered and the process by which it is awarded.
  • Visit the links below to access a scholarship application.
  • Contact the state agency representatives listed below if you have scholarship questions.
  • Deadline for scholarship applications varies by state.
  • To assure consideration, it is advised that these requests be sent to the appropriate state agency as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT: The school application IS NOT a state scholarship application and the state scholarship application is NOT a school application. These are two separate forms that must be completed and sent to the appropriate agency. To be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your state scholarship application. All applications will be linked below.

If you apply for a scholarship and will NOT attend if you do not receive scholarship funding, select "Please withdraw if I do not receive a scholarship” on your Best Practices School application form. Otherwise, you will be responsible for your balance due if you do not cancel your application.

NOTE: In order to reserve a spot at Best Practices School, you must indicate how you will pay for your registration balance, and what you plan to do if you do not receive a scholarship. Most scholarships pay only partial school tuition and payment of the balance is required of all applicants, including those seeking scholarship support.

Note from the NH Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services (BDAS):

The NH Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services (BDAS) views the Best Practices School as a valuable educational resource for addiction professionals.  We encourage all providers whose work touches the lives of those affected by substance use disorders to attend this unique annual event to learn, network, and reenergize passion for their work; all in the tranquil mountains of NH.

In years past, BDAS has offered financial assistance to NH providers to attend this event.  Unfortunately we are unable to offer scholarships for the 2018 school.  It is our intent to bring these back in 2019 and beyond.  Thank you for the work that you do to help people enter and sustain recovery
